The general premise of the video is that electronics are consuming,distracting us from the real world.How it affects are reactions in the world through media,makes us careless,and not following through to the world around them,that there are few who pay attention and few who are more focused on their surroundings than whats on a screen.

Yes it is effective,it states the truth that people are more focused on screen time than the world around,that some do risky things on media,that everyone has been affected by screen time,judgement,and other horrific things that could affect either their future or others.

To be honest,I think it is both because the creator is obviously showing the many things that most of us are doing that we are oblivious to,we don't react as we should,we just see it as a chance to get more views,more likes,more of a social media status.They also show us the exact things we do when we are not paying attention,no reading book,focused on our devices,not caring about the importance of what could be right in front of us.Like how the boy tried to get the man's attention,suppose[not saying he is] that man was the boy's father,the man was so cooped up in the phone he wouldn't have noticed the boy had disappeared until he was really gone,possibly forever.
